Photographer Neil Krug has an amazing play on colors and does some pretty interesting things through his photography. This image is the cover of the Goo Goo Dolls album but he does a lot of work with landscapes and other famous people like Lana Del Rey, First Aid Kit, and more. What I find extremely cool about his work is the color he can create in his film images. In digital it is very easy to change colorcasts and tones in software but he is able to do so in film. He does a lot of double exposure shots as well that look amazing. In general, I just like his style a lot and will be pulling inspiration from him in the future.
This is an image I found off Tumblr that depicts the inside of a working mans wor4k truck or car. I like it because I grew up around a similar environment when my dad was a contractor and it brings back a lot of memories. It’s not glamorous or compositionally extraordinary, but it tells a story about the work and the life that it’s owner lives. It would be interesting to explore this theme and try to meet people who live this type of life and photograph them.
